Apollo has won three contracts worth over £12m to construct primary schools in London under the Primary Capital Programme.
The works involve new build extensions or additional blocks.
The first of the three, Orchard Primary School in Hackney has contracted Apollo to build a three storey extension for the existing Edwardian building, as well as undertaking remodelling on the current premises.
Apollo will also construct a two-storey extension for St Mary’s & St Peters CE Primary School in the London Borough of Richmond, along with further adaptations and refurbishment of the existing school. This project includes the installation of a number of sustainable features that will bring the school up to a BREEAM excellent rating.
Finally, Apollo will be adding a new build primary block within the grounds of The German School, an independent all through school in Richmond.
Jeremy Eavis, managing director of Apollo Education, said: “We see the Primary Capital programme as a major source of opportunity for Apollo.
“Not only is this area not yet subject to the Government’s ‘cuts’, as seen in areas like the BSF funding stream, but it is also driven by a very real demand for additional primary places.
“As well as these significant new contracts, we are currently targeting in the region of £150m Primary Capital opportunities across the UK with values ranging from £1m to £9m.”
