Crossrail has put another contract out to tender: a £35m deal for the construction of a power substation at Liverpool Street Station.

Contract C503 is the first civils package to be advertised at the station, and will facilitate the construction of the new Broadgate Ticket Hall.

The project includes a new three storey substation building, six electrical switchrooms, a sprinkler valve chamber, a stations operation office, and low voltage signalling switch room.

A new sprayed concrete lining 4m in diameter, plus a 56m long cable tunnel will be constructed under the Metropolitan and Circle Line in order to bring cables from their existing location under the proposed Broadgate Ticket Hall into their new location on Platform 3 of the Met and Circle lines at Liverpool street Station.

A number of existing LUL infrastructure assets will be relocated or diverted as part of the contract

The construction contract is expected to run for 25 months.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 14 July.
