Enterprise Mouchel has been appointed as Managing Agent Contractor for Highways Agency Area 1, covering major routes in Cornwall and in Devon, West of Exeter.
It follows Enterprise Mouchel’s earlier success in securing the MAC contract for Area 13 in the north west.
The Area 1 contract, to deliver integrated highways management and maintenance, is worth between £20 and £30 million annually. It takes effect from 4 July 2010 for five years with an option to extend the contract for a further two years.
Enterprise Mouchel, which was the incumbent contractor for Area 1, will be responsible for the maintenance of roads and bridges totalling 180 miles of carriageway.
Enterprise Mouchel is a fully incorporated company jointly owned by Enterprise and Mouchel. The company specialises in providing integrated highways network management services to the public sector across the UK.
