ISG scoops Bradford University healthcare faculty

8 Jun 10 ISG has secured a £5.5m construction contract with the University of Bradford to relocate the School of Health Studies from Trinity Road Campus to its central City Campus.

ISG has secured a £5.5m construction contract with the University of Bradford to relocate the School of Health Studies from Trinity Road Campus to its central City Campus.

The project will see ISG build a new four-storey concrete frame extension, with a fifth floor office extension, to the existing Horton A Building, which will also be fully refurbished as part of the development.

The new structure has been designed as a statement building for the University and will feature a striking cantilevered triple-glazed elevation, with glass reinforced concrete cladding to its façade.

The design of the new School of Health building supports the University’s ‘Ecoversity’ sustainable development programme, and incorporates a green sedum roof and solar shading panels as well as high performance building materials to minimise its impact on the environment.

ISG will also create a new radiography suite in the existing Horton Building, which will be modernised and upgraded with the installation of new triple glazed window units and solar shading panels.

The project, which is scheduled for completion in spring 2011, forms part of the wider University estates strategy to further enhance the quality of learning accommodation and make state-of-the-art facilities available to students across its campus.
