Kier reaches financial close on £44m Cambridgeshire BSF

20 May 10 Kier has achieved financial close on wave four of the Fenland Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme for Cambridgeshire County Council.

Kier has achieved financial close on wave four of the Fenland Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme for Cambridgeshire County Council.

The scheme comprises the construction of two new schools in Wisbech with a combined value of £44.4m: The Thomas Clarkson Community College, valued at £33.4m; and the Meadowgate School, valued at £11m.

Work is due to start in July 2010.

Kier chief executive Paul Sheffield said: "We are delighted that Kier has been chosen to bring these exciting projects to fruition under the BSF programme and look forward to working closely with all parties involved in their delivery. We are committed to delivering exemplary places of learning in Wisbech to benefit pupils, staff and the local community."

Kier is part of the Equitix consortium.
