25 Jun 10 Kier has been awarded two housing contracts in Islington worth up to £88m over four years.

Kier has been awarded two housing contracts in Islington worth up to £88m over four years.

The construction group secured the deals from Homes for Islington, the arms length management organisation for the local authority.

The contracts, to repair and maintain 29,500 properties in the Borough, were won in competitive tender.

Contract 1 comprises housing repairs, voids and adaptations across the Borough with an indicative annual value of between £14m and £20m.

Contract 2 is for the gas servicing repairs, replacements and upgrades in the north of the Borough with an indicative annual value of between £1m and £2m.

The four-year contracts which, subject to performance, could be extended for up to 10 years, will start on 30 October 2010.

Kier has been repairing and maintaining the Borough's housing stock since 2000.
