The university will be occupying four floors, totalling around 100 000 sq ft of space, in a 12-storey building.
The shell and core have been built by management contractor Bovis Lend Lease for developer Peel Holdings.
The fit out works which will be carried out include: audio visual equipment; specialist TV and radio studios; a cafe; open plan and cellular offices.
Overbury will be responsible for the detail design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the majority of specialist equipment.
The first phase of MediaCityUK will be completed towards the end of 2011.
The University of Salford will have a campus for up to 15,000 students and staff in the development.
