Scottish Coal has agreed a £23m deal with Finning for 10 Caterpillar 785D off highway trucks and a 7 year/36,000 hour equipment support package.
Scottish Coal will be the first company in the UK to operate the new D-Series trucks, which will be used at Broken Cross Surface Mine in Ayrshire
The 249,476 kg trucks feature an increased hauling capacity of 136 tonnes per load, and are powered by a Cat 33512C HD engine, with 1,450 hp. The trucks rise 11.8m from the ground with a wheelbase of some 5.18m.
