® STEPS UP ITS DESIGN SOFTWARE.

StairCon® from Consultec, part of Gang-Nail Systems, has recently been upgraded to include 15 new features. The new version, StairCon 5.1, will provide clients with additional command sets that will provide improved design flexibility and visualisation.

StairCon 5.1, demonstrated recently at W8, (Woodworking and Machinery exhibition) combines new design and estimating properties alongside easier programme interaction and navigation allowing designers to better meet the needs of their customers.

Amongst these added features is the new Production Cost System. The system takes into account the material used, design and production processes to generate an accurate cost estimation for a particular project, making quote production far easier.

In addition to this, the updated software now incorporates several new design options, such as the ‘free editing’ ability of Bullnose and Curtail profiled steps, allowing more scope to create an original stair flight. Further options include the addition of the Sawtooth and Single string features, suitable for more modern stair designs, alongside the ability to draw and split glass balustrades. Additionally, it is now possible to incorporate bore hole machining on both sides of the post to make installation easier and provide further visual options during the designing stage.

From a visual perspective, StairCon 5.1 provides greater viewing capabilities by allowing users to view both side elevations on the same screen, in addition to the split view ability between strings and upper and lower floor balustrades.

Jason Ruddle, Sales and Business Development Director for Gang-Nail Systems, is confident that the latest additions to StairCon will provide a complete package for its users, “By continually liaising with our customer base we are able to offer a package that meets the needs of its users to the highest standards. We regularly look for potential improvements and recognise the fact that a customers’ needs may change with time,”

He continued, “In providing the latest updates, we are hoping to show that StairCon software is able to evolve according to the needs of it users. The new version incorporates advanced designing and estimating options, making the software an attractive option for existing and future customers.”
