Stansted Airport wants contractors to bid for places on a three-year construction framework, worth between £40m and £62m.

The contract covers projects with a value up to £5m.

The airport operator expects to appoint two contractors to the framework to deliver its capital works programme between April 2011 and March 2013.

There will be the option to extend the agreement for a further 12 months.

The framework is divided into two lots.

Bidders must have completed at least 10 airport construction projects, plus a further five retail or transport schemes, with an individual value between £50,000 and £2m during the last two years. Stansted also requires interested contractors to have posted an annual turnover of over £8m for at least two years since 2007.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 29 October.
