24 May 10 Wates and Bristol contractor Ian Williams have been picked for a £40m housing refurbishment contract in Wolverhampton.

Wates and Bristol contractor Ian Williams have been picked for a £40m housing refurbishment contract in Wolverhampton.

Client is Bromford Group, which operates homes across central England in 58 local authorities totalling around 25 000 properties.

The work involves refurbishment of kitchens, bathrooms plus electrical wiring installation works as part of the group's planned maintenance programme.

This includes design, supply and installation, associate works to floor, wall and ceiling finishes, replacement or new installation of electrical and plumbing services, minor associated structural alterations, identification and associated management of asbestos, and resident liaison services.

The contracts will be for a five-year period with the option to extend annually for a maximum of five years.

The contract is divided into two lots: Wates will tackle housing in the south of Wolverhampton; Ian Williams will be responsible for the homes in the north of the city.
