B & K Structures has installed the timber dome structure which forms the roof of 'The Pods', Scunthorpe's new leisure centre, helped by propping from RMD Kwikform.
The roof consists of five interlocking domes, supported by a steel spine, clad with composite insulated cladding panels.
B & K Structures is working for Bowmer & Kirkland, main contractor on the £26m 'Pods' project.
The venue will include a 4,000 sq ft fitness studio, a 25m swimming pool and training pool, a six-court sports hall and a dance studio.
It is scheduled to be completed in May 2011.
