Vinci UK's turnover dropped 17% to £1.16bn in 2009, despite the addition of a full year's turnover from Taylor Woodrow.
Pre-tax profit was down fractionarlly at £15.4m, compared to £16.2 million in 2008
Vinci's cash deposits rose to £147m in 2009, but lower interest rates reduced it earnings on these funds to £2m from £9m in 2008.
The UK division of the French construction giant described trading conditions as “difficult”.
It added: “The outlook for 2010 remains difficult, but we believe Vinci remains in a strong position to ride out the downturn.”
