Wales to build four new road schemes worth up to £113m

4 Mar 10 The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) has issued prior information notices for four new road projects worth which it plans to advertise formally later this year.

The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) has issued prior information notices for four new road projects worth which it plans to advertise formally later this year.

The four schemes are:

  • A470 Erwood - Glanwye Improvement. Construction of trunk road widening works, including environmental mitigation and structural works. Estimated value: £12m to £20m. Scheduled date for start of award procedures: 15 November 2010.
  • A470 Maes y Helmau improvement. Single carriageway widening and improvement, over 2km. Estimated value: £6m to £8m. Scheduled date for start of award procedures: 31 July 2010.
  • A470 Builth Wells improvement (early contractor involvement). Taking the project from preferred route through statutory consent procedure and subsequent construction. Estimated value: £5m to £25m. Scheduled date for start of award procedures: 30 August 2010.
  • A487 Caernarfon - Bontnewydd improvement (early contractor involvement). Estimated value: £40m to £60m. Scheduled date for start of award procedures: 21 June 2010.
