Both of the rigs are Junttan PMX22 models. One is fitted with a 5/6-tonne Shark hammer, and the second a 4/5/6-tonne Shark hammer.

The two new rigs will join the company’s recently purchased Banut 300 midi rigs. Aarsleff has bought two of these for light applications on minimal operating platforms and for restricted access and residential-type projects.

Arriving in the first week of November, all four rigs together represent an investment of approximately £2.4m.

General manager Kevin Hague said: “These rigs represent a significant investment by Aarsleff and will not only provide extra capacity to meet growing orders, but also the versatility to tackle new and challenging projects across all sectors, including the new market sectors the company has recently entered.”

He added: “Investment is one of the key drivers of the company’s continued success, and demonstrates Aarsleff’s optimism regarding the UK economy, the strength of the construction sector and the many opportunities it presents now and in the future.”
