Aecom teams up to target data centres

20 Nov 15 Aecom has formed a partnership to produce a kit building system targeted at the growing need for data centres.

It has formed Rapid Deployment Team with California-based Project Frog to deliver new buildings that will combine traditional construction methods with a modular approach using off-site manufacturing with components specifically designed for shipping and rapid on-site installation. The Converge data centre kit is designed to give an accelerated construction schedule. Customisable solutions are available for data centres ranging from 1MW to more than 50MW. The system is being rolled out globally.

“This partnership will provide our clients access to a service offering unparalleled in our industry,” said Louis Armstrong, executive vice president at Aecom. “Project Frog’s innovative and proven delivery method, combined with Aecom’s lifecycle data centre services, creates a quality, turnkey delivery solution.”

Project Frog CEO Richard Guinn added: “Rapid deployment is key to effectively serving the growing data center market,” explained. “It is possible for speed, quality, and affordability to coexist and we are proving it on a large scale.”
