WC Watts has traditionally run loaders from three other leading manufacturers, but wanted to check out the claimed fuel efficiency of the Bell loaders.
It put several machines of different brands, including the Bell L1806E, through extensive tests conducted by an independent assessor in the presence of the manufacturers’ representatives over a number of days.
“What we found was that the Bell exceeds other machines that we’ve tried in terms of productivity,” said WC Watts director Richard Watts.
“Productivity is key, and when we worked out what the fuel saving was with the Bell, we should end up paying much less during the life of the machine than we would otherwise have paid.”
The new Bell loader, part of a fleet of 15 loaders and around 60 other trucks and excavators operated by WC Watts, is now working in the firm’s sand and gravel sites as well as being available for hire.
