Amey picked for NY rail asset management

Amey has won a contract to help improve efficiency on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) service in New York, USA.

It will help lead the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) enterprise-wide asset management programme as part of a new contract with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). The contract will see a dedicated project manager from Amey working alongside the LIRR asset management team to help drive cost and performance efficiencies.

Suzie Heap, Amey’s project manager on the LIRR, said: “I’ll be working alongside LIRR colleagues at project level to support all aspects of the program and ensure that we’re hitting our objectives at every turn. We have a proven track record of delivering this type of project support to our international clients and we’re delighted to be able to bring our experience and skills to this project to help our client make better decisions about their infrastructure.”

The contract was awarded as part of a framework to provide a range of tactical, strategic and transformational services on a project by project basis to assist the MTA and its operating agencies.
