Appointment of Jo Elliot as Chairman of hub South East Scotland

13 Dec 10 The directors of hub South East Scotland are pleased to announce the appointment of Jo Elliot as Chairman.

Jo Elliot is a senior adviser to Quayle Munro Ltd, a leading Edinburgh-based corporate finance adviser, and holds a number of non-executive board appointments including membership of the Court of Dundee University.  He joined Quayle Munro in 1983, became a director in 1988 and was Chief Executive from 2002 until 2007, where he built up the business particularly at the interface between the public and private sectors.

Paul McGirk, Director of hubco said: “I am delighted to welcome Jo to the board and particularly pleased that he will be playing such a leading role in the development of our company.  As Scotland’s first established hub company we have a tremendously exciting time ahead of us, helping our partners to provide innovative value for money solutions in the procurement of new public sector community buildings.  Jo’s extensive financial and development expertise will be invaluable to us and we all look forward to benefitting from his input.”

Commenting on his appointment, Jo said: “I am really looking forward to the opportunities that hub will bring. By working closely together we will harness the strengths of both the public and private sectors to deliver new community buildings for the provision of modern and joined-up services for the people of Lothian and Borders. Jo has a degree in physics from Oxford University and specialised in finance for his MBA at Cranfield School of Management.

Aged 58, Jo is married to Alison and has two adult children.
