APS to sell Isoli vehicle-mounted platforms

26 Jun 13 Access Platform Sales (APS) is entering the vehicle-mounted access sector as the official UK importer and distributor for Italian manufacturer Isoli.

APS already offers a wide offering of terrain scissor and boom lifts, including spider lifts and towable booms. The introduction of vehicle-mounts completes its product line-up.

Sales and marketing director Richard Tindale said: “We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Isoli. It allows us finally to provide our customers with a range of high quality, high performance light truck mounts which perfectly complement our existing portfolio of self-propelled, push-around and towable products.”

APS will install Isoli platforms on UK-sourced commercial vehicles at the company’s workshops in Telford, Shropshire. Sister company Platform Service & Repair (PSR) will provide product support.

Isoli produces telescopic and articulated pantograph boom models, offering working heights from 14m to 36m, with up to 23m height available on a 3.5-tonne light commercial vehicle chassis. The company also offers a 14m unit on the Land Rover Defender for specialist off-road applications.

At the Vertikal Days cranes and access trade show this week, APS is exhibiting the Isoli PT225 telecopic boom mounted on a Nissan Cabstar 3.5-tonne chassis, providing 22.5m working height with up to 13.5m outreach. APS signed the deal with Isoli after reaching a working agreement with company’s current UK dealer, Promax Access, for whom vehicle-mounts was not its core business. Promax will continue to support its existing Isoli customers if required, but APS is now responsible for all sales, service and warranty throughout the UK on Isoli vehicle-mounts.

Promax managing director Shaun Day said: “We have decided to focus on our core business of tracked boom lifts and specialist rail platforms.

“We know APS is well positioned to provide service and support through its sister divisions within the IAPS Group, so Isoli owners will be looked after. Of course, we are still happy to help any of our truck mount customers who would prefer to continue with us in future, but we will not actively promote the products.”

Richard Tindale added: “Isoli is firmly established now across the world as a well-respected supplier of vehicle mounted platforms.

“We believe APS can build on the foundations established by Promax to make Isoli a recognised and successful brand in the UK as well.”
