Family-owned Ashbrook Plant has now bought the Warrington and Bangor yards from the administrators, saving more than 30 jobs have been saved.

Managing director James Ashbrook said: “Whilst we were all sad to see the news regarding Hewden, we are pleased to report that we were able to react quickly and diligently to secure both depots and assets, in addition to the future and livelihood of the workforce in Warrington and Bangor."

Ashbrook will run each location as a separate business, called Ashbrook (Warrington) Ltd and Ashbrook (Bangor) Ltd.

Mr Ashbrook added: "We are open for business and working with customers to ensure a smooth transition. We have already invested over £3m  in new access platforms, cherry pickers and dumpers to add to the existing plant fleet.”
