Astaldi wins Polish rail upgrade

28 Jun 17 Astaldi has won a €82m (£72m) contract to upgrade a section of the E-59 Warsaw-Poznań railway line in Poland.

It holds a 95% share of a joint venture that also includes fellow Italian business CLF.

The project calls for the reconstruction of track for 35km of the existing line for the section from the boundary with the Lower Silesia Province in Leszno. Also planned is the construction of two stations – at Rawicz and Bojanowo – together with a viaduct upgrade and the construction of two additional viaducts.

The works are expected to take slightly more than two years and are to be carried out without interrupting the railway traffic.

The Customer is PKP (Polskie Linie Kolejowe), the public company that operates Poland’s railway infrastructure. The works will be financed by European funds and by the State budget.
