Balfour Beatty starts work on Portland tower

Balfour Beatty subsidiary Howard S Wright is building a 19-storey tower in Portland in the US state of Oregon.

The tower for BPM Real Estate will be home to a 180-room Radisson Red hotel and will also have 175,000 square feet of office space and over 2,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

Broadway Tower is Howard S Wright’s second project for BPM Real Estate Group in Portland and follows the Pearl West office building, delivered to the developer earlier this year.

“BPM Real Estate Group is committed to developing intelligently-designed projects that greatly enhance their communities and we’re honoured to be their construction partner,” said Troy Dickson, senior vice president, Howard S Wright.

The tower’s exterior will be constructed of a combination of curtain wall glass, terracotta rain-screen and storefront glass on ground level.

The project is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2018.
