BAM reaches financial close for Irish motorway PPP

19 Oct 15 A consortium of BAM-PGGM and Iridium has reached financial close on the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy PPP project in Ireland.

It has secured financing of €248m for the National Roads Authority - otherwise known as Transport Infrastructure Ireland – scheme, which involves a total investment of €400m.

The M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy scheme will provide a link within the south east region of Ireland. It will also ease congestion by bypassing Ferns, Camolin and Enniscorthy. It involves the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of 31.4km of dual carriageway for the M11 and N80 Link Road as well as the design, construction and financing of 8km of single carriageway for the N30.

Construction will be undertaken by a BAM Civil and Dragados Ireland joint venture and will start on site in January 2016. The project is expected to support in the region of 2,500 jobs across Ireland.

The operations phase will commence in August 2019, followed by a 25-year concession period.
