BAM Ritchies engaged on Beauly to Denny Power Line Ground Investigation

20 Dec 11 BAM Ritchies has been appointed by Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions on behalf of Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission Limited, a subsidiary of SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy), to undertake ground investigation works for the proposed 200km, 400kV overhead electricity transmission line between Beauly and Wharry Burn, 20km north of Denny, in Scotland.

Work valued at about £1.5million is well underway and is planned to run into the spring of 2012. Further work valued at around £2million running right through 2012 may also be awarded depending upon the final scope of works.

This award follows the substantial level of work done on the Forth Replacement Crossing and for the Transport Scotland Trunk Roads Framework in recent years and once again confirms BAM Ritchies as the leading ground investigation specialist involved in major Scottish infrastructure works.
