A new school campus for Rydens Enterprise School & Sixth Form College is to be built on its adjacent playing fields. The existing school will subsequently demolished and the land sold for housing development to fund the new school building.

The target date for opening the new school is September 2016.

The school says that its current 1970s buildings are no longer fit for purpose and beyond refurbishment, and that it has substantial amount of surplus playing fields. The school sits on an 18ha site.

The new buildings will also enable the school to grow from 1100 to 1500 pupils and provide communal sports facilities for local residents.

The school’s project manager is MEW and architect is Scott Brownrigg. Its structural engineer is Arup, and Silcock Dawson & Partners is mechanical & electrical consultant.
