24 Jun 15 The tendering process has begun for the design and construction of a 3,000m2 visitor centre at the new US$7.4bn (£4.7bn) port being built in Qatar.

Companies are being invited to register their interest to receive the tender documents for the centre, which will include a 200-seat auditorium and an aquarium.

The port is located south of Doha. It will cover a 26km2 area and will also provide a new base for the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces. Completion is due next year.

The closing date for registration is 26 July and tender documents are expected to be available for collection in August. Details from the New Port Project website (link opens in new tab).
