Billingham drywall and frame business goes into administration

9 Apr 14 Billingham-based drywall installer and steel-frame producer WA Browne (Building Services) Limited has called in the administrators.

The company was established by Bill Browne in 1979 to provide drywall installations to the commercial and residential and social housing sectors. It is a past winner of Federation of Drywall & Plastering Contractors awards for its work.

As well as drywall installation, the company has operated for about a decade as a manufacturer of light-gauge steel frame with a nationwide service, from supply of pre-cut lengths and infill panels to modular build or full on-site installation. The most recent expansion of its services was in 2010 with the acquisition of an established painting and decorating business.

Increasingly it offers a turnkey service to clients including other services such as bespoke joinery, fire-stopping, ceramic tiling, suspended ceilings and signage.

The administrators are Steven John Currie and Andrew Haslam of Begbies Traynor in Stoke on Trent.
