Board appointments at Galliford Try

Ishbel Macpherson and Terry Miller will join on 1 February 2014. Amanda Burton, currently the senior independent director and chair of the remuneration committee, has decided not to seek re-election at the 2014 annual general meeting, having completed nine years on the board.

Ms Macpherson, 53, has more than 20 years’ experience in investment banking with Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Hoare Govett and Barclays. She is chair of Speedy Hire plc and a former non-exec director of May Gurney, among several others.

Terry Miller,62, was most recently general counsel for The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games  (Locog). Before that, she spent 17 years as international general counsel for Goldman Sachs in London.

Galliford Try chairman Ian Coull said: "I am delighted to welcome both Ishbel and Terry to Galliford Try as additional non-executives. These appointments will further strengthen our independence and the experience of the board as well as plan for Amanda's departure.”
