Bouygues targets Philippines highway PPP

25 Oct 13 Bouygues is among the contractors that have submitted pre-qualification documents formalising their interest to bid on a P35.42bn (£506m) tolled expressway project in the Philippines.

The four groups that submitted documents to the Department of Public Works & Highways (DPWH) for the Cavite-Laguna Expressway are:

  • Alloy MTD Philippines;
  • Team Orion, a consortium of AC Infrastructure Holdings, Aboitiz Land, Macquarie Infrastructure Holdings Philippines, Bouygues Travaux, Egis Road Operations and Korea Expressway;
  • Consortium of Metro Pacific Tollways Development Corporation (MPTDC) and Leighton Contractors (Philippines);
  • Optimal Infrastructure Development of San Miguel Corp.

DPWH is set to announce the list of prequalified bidders for the project on 4 November and a pre-bid conference will be held on 19 November. The submission of bids is tentatively set for January 2014.

For the Calax project, the private partner will finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the 47km toll expressway.
