Tynexe Commercial, the developer behind AirView Park, has appointed Brims Construction to put up two more buildings at the 175,000 sq ft business park next to Newcastle International Airport.

The new speculative buildings are each approximately 10,000 sq ft.

Sunderland-based Brims Construction is a privately-owned construction company with a turnover of £26.5m and 83 permanent staff.  Initial ground and enabling works have started, including the excavation of plots 2A and B to formation level, with build activity on plot 2A also under way. A full programme of construction is expected to last 11 months under a £4.2m contract, with completion of the first building anticipated in the autumn.

Tynexe Commercial director Mike Clark said: “Brims has vast experience creating high quality industrial and commercial schemes, and so work onsite will now move at speed. Initial groundworks have started on the first building and by the end of the year, we will have a new scheme that delivers the very best facilities for potential occupiers.”

AirView Park, in Woolsington next to the airport, has already attracted house-builder Bellway, whose new national headquarters was part of phase one, with office space for more than 80 employees.
