Bureau Veritas lands wide-ranging Kazakhstan roads role

17 Apr 14 The city of Astana has appointed Bureau Veritas to tighten quality control in its road projects.

Its role will cover road construction and repair works in Astana city according to an annoucement on the city’s website. In addition to this, Bureau Veritas will review all organisations engaged in technical supervision of construction projects, asphalt concrete factories and construction enterprises.

The contract also covers the development of several alternative variants for the composition of upper asphalt concrete layers, meeting the climate requirements of the city. Other aspects of the work include opening a quality control laboratory.

Improvements are planned to 128 of Astana's streets with a total length of 111km long. In addition, new road construction is planned.
