13 Mar 12 Yorkshire-based Caddick Construction has given a popular out-of-town retail park in Nottingham a £850,000 facelift.

The external façade of the 1970s Chilwell Retail Park has been replaced with new composite panelling and new entrance canopies, along with associated new paving and barriers to the entrance.  The canopies and entrances are fitted with new LED lighting.

The project was completed in 17 weeks, with the team working days and some nights to complete the works with minimum disruption to shoppers.

Merna Kennedy, Property Manager for Sportsdirect.com Retail commented:  “Both the Store Manager and I are extremely pleased with the way the works were carried out with minimum of disruption to our business.”

Chris Allott, Contracts Manager for Knottingley-based Caddick Construction, said: “Our experience in the retail sector meant that we understood the environment in which we were working.  We ensured that visitors could still enjoy the retail experience throughout the refurbishment period, and were guided safely to the shopping areas.”
