Carey prepares self-build village with £15m civils package
PJ Carey has won a £15m groundworks contract for a housing development south of Bicester.
There are plans for a new village of 1,900 custom-build homes plus amenities to be built over the next 10 years at Graven Hill on 188 hectares of former Ministry of Defence land.
Outline planning for the Graven Hill is now in place for 1,900 new homes, along with a primary school, employment space, a local pub/restaurant and a small number of local shops. The first plots were released for sale in August.
Graven Hill is described as the UK's biggest self-build development site and is walking distance form Bicester town centre.
PJ Carey’s contract is for infrastructure, landscaping works and civils for phase 1a of the development as well as improvements to Rodney House Roundabout.
Its client is Graven Hill Village Development Company Ltd.
