The new facility, on the site of an old cement plant, has the capacity to manufacture over half a million linear metres of precast concrete T-beam flooring a year, equivalent to flooring for approximately 4,000 houses.
T-beams form part of Cemex’s Readyfloor range, an easy-to-install suspended flooring system composed of pre-stressed concrete beams with standard blocks providing the infill. The beams produced at Rochester will be complemented by blocks produced at the company’s plant at Northfleet.
