Contract value is expected to be between £32m and £38m.
Up to six storeys high, the building is expected to provide between 13,000 and 16,500 square metres, subject to planning. It will house a 300-seat lecture theatre as well as other classrooms and offices.
The preferred procurement route is single stage NEC option A fixed price design & build contract.
The overall project duration is expected to be 21 months. The university is aiming to have the building in use by August 2016.
It is anticipated that the site will be cleared prior to the appointment of the main contractor and that a substructure enabling package may be let.
