The university is inviting pre-qualifying questionnaires from contractors who want to tender for the design & build contract, which has an estimated value of £19m.

The new Centre for Biomolecular Sciences building will be built on the university’s main Park Campus. The 6,000 m2 building will house laboratories, offices and ancillary support spaces.

The university says that it is “looking for a contractor who will work with the university and its professional advisory team to create this flagship research facility in a proactive and collaborative manner, and who seeks to deliver the facility as a part of the overall team in a diligent and intelligent way”.

BuroFour is project manager and Gleeds is acting as cost manager. The architect on the project is Benoy with DH Squires as services consultant and Collins Hall Green as structural & civil engineer.
