Costain is responsible for design development and construction. Contract value is estimated to be £34m.
The project aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety by upgrading the single carriageway road to a dual carriageway, with new bridges and junction improvements.
The scheme was selected as one of the Highways Agency's accelerated delivery projects to support economic growth. Design development work starts this month.
