Crocodile snapped up

11 Sep 13 Design and build specialist Sylva Group has acquired the projects business of Swindon-based Crocodile Timber Frames.

Crocodile will continue to manufacture its systems but from 1 October 2013 Sylva Group becomes the exclusive supplier of the Crocodile Timber Frame system. Crocodile’s eight-strong project delivery team is joining Sylva.

A separate manufacturing agreement between the two companies will see them work together to provide a continuation of customer service.

Crocodile will continue to provide sub-contract supply-only manufacturing services for timber wall panel, floor and roof cassettes and Mitek Posi-Joists.

Sylva said it would benefit from an increase in design and operational capacity.

Sylva Group development director Craig Strachan said: “This is a very exciting time for Sylva. The acquisition will allow us to widen our market, integrate our supply chain and provide much more for our customers. We look forward to welcoming Crocodile’s project delivery staff to our team, and continuing to deliver the first-class customer service that has been the hallmark of both company’s operations to date.”

Crocodile managing director Quentin Philip added: "We are very pleased to confirm this positive development for both Sylva Group and Crocodile and believe that it will enhance the excellent service already offered to our customers.  Sylva's expertise will provide a significant technical boost to our ability to service the timber frame sector over the next few years."
