Emmitt already has more than 1200 items of kit across depots in east, south and central England.

The latest order was placed with Corby-based dealer Willowbrook Plant Services. The deal included 24 Takeuchi mini-excavators and six Hyundai 14-tonners.

Most of the minis are the 8.5-tonne Takeuchi TB285. This is the second year running that Emmitt has chosen Takeuchi as its mini-excavator brand of choice.

Director Ron Chidgey said: “We are more than happy with the performance and lack of down time with the Takeuchis. We still run another supplier but it has opened our eyes to how good they actually are.”

The six new R140LC-9 machines are the first Hyundais that Emmitt has had, having previously bought Case and Volvo.

“We demonstrated the product first and it performed very well,” said Mr Chidgey. “We are driven by our customers so it will be good to see how they perform.”
