Ex football pro signs for VHE

8 Nov 13 Land reclamation contractor VHE has signed up former professional footballer Alan McKillop as contracts manager with business development responsibilities in Scotland.

Mr McKillop was a star central defender for St Johnstone when they won the Scottish First Division championship in 1989/90. In a well-travelled career, he also played for Forfar Athletic, Arbroath and Brechin City.

Since retiring from the game he has become an experienced civil engineer with extensive remediation experience with a number of specialist remediation and general civil engineering contractors.

He will take responsibility for VHE’s existing schemes in Scotland and will operate out of its Cumbernauld office.

VHE managing director Steve Stiff said: “VHE has been instrumental in the remediation and regeneration of numerous Scottish sites, most notably the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village and currently Shawfields. Alan will help VHE develop a long term and sustainable Scottish business by building on our network of existing frameworks and relationships, while developing new ones based on our commitment to retain a senior management presence in the area.”
