The new school is on the site of the former Lee Valley Technopark and will provide 12,000 m2 of new teaching accommodation.

It is the fifth Harris Federation school that Farrans has worked on.

In Tottenham the works will consist of internal refurbishment of the existing Technopark buildings along with the construction of a two-storey teaching block and a sports hall.  The first phase of refurbished accommodation is required to be complete for September 2016, with further phases completed for September 2017.

The exemplar design was completed by Mace and Farrans is now developing the detailed design.

Chris Randall, director of new developments at Harris Federation said, “We are delighted to be working with Farrans again on this project which provides much needed high quality school places for Tottenham. It is a challenging project with the need to work at speed on the first phase to deliver remodelled accommodation for September 2016 and to work around an occupied site delivering the rest of the phases in September 2017 and the sports hall shortly after that. But we have seen what Farrans can do on our sixth form free school in Westminster and the three primary school projects currently in construction. I am sure they are more than up to the task.”

Farrans contracts manager Glenn Gilmore said it was “a privilege to be working with Chris and the Harris Team again.  The excellent relationship that we have developed over the last two years has allowed for a pretty seamless progression through the design stage,” he said. “We are looking forward to starting the first construction phase at the end of March.”
