Farrans takes £15.4m Addenbrookes job

9 Dec 10 A new maternity ward development at Cambridge’s Addenbrookes hospital will be built by Farrans (Construction) Ltd.

The £25.4m contract is for a three-storey extension to the Rosie Maternity Hospital to provide a new perinatal unit, including minor alterations to the existing building at interfaces.

The new extension has a gross floor area of approximately 7 200 m² and comprises a primarily in-situ concrete frame, insitu concrete floor slabs with brickwork, rendered blockwork and cement board external cladding.

The hospital estate will remain in full operation and occupation during construction operations.

Client is Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
