Ferrovial team lands $1.6bn Queensland road contract

6 Jul 15 A Ferrovial-led consortium's bid has won the AU$1.6bn (£771m) Toowoomba toll road project in Queensland, Australia.

The Nexus consortium, headed by Ferrovial subsidiary Cintra Infraestructuras, has been selected as preferred tenderer for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of a 41km section of the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing toll road.

It will the first investment in Australia by developer Cintra, which currently manages over 2,180km of toll roads in concessions in Canada, the US and Europe.
