The contract for client  Iberdrola  is the third awarded to Ferrovial Agroman as part of the Tâmega River hydro complex.

The consortium of Ferrovial Agroman and local company MSF will build an underground machine hall  - 120m long, 20m wide and 44m high -  to hold four 220MW generators. The team will also build the underground transformer hall, which will be 80m long, 17m wide and 14m high. Ferrovial Agroman will also be in charge of digging 5km of galleries and eight vertical shafts measuring up to 320m in length with a diameter of 7m.

The Gouvaes plant is the third contract awarded by Iberdrola to Ferrovial’s construction subsidiary within the Tâmega River Hydroelectric Complex. In May 2016, the company was chosen to build the Daivoes dam and power plant, currently under construction. It had previously built the penstock for the Gouvaes plant and the inspection galleries for the Tâmega project.
