The project for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) covers a 13km section of the highway in the San Antonio metropolitan area.
Work will be carried out by Webber, a subsidiary of Ferrovial Agroman and will take three years to complete.
The contract includes the construction of three new lanes - two for general use and one for high-occupancy vehicles - in each direction, together with four interchanges and a direct connection to a park-and-ride facility with access San Antonio’s public transport system.
