McLaren Construction is building two logistics units at the Birch Coppice Business Park in Warwickshire for IM Properties.

The two units, measuring 165,600 sq ft and 168,900 sq ft, are scheduled to complete in January 2014.

According to IM Properties, there has been no speculative construction of standard distribution units over 100,000 sq ft since 2008.

Development director Kevin Ashfield said: “We are pleased to be leading the way in large scale speculative development. I’d like to thank the agents who celebrated the start of construction with us.”

Situated in Dordon at Junction 10 of the M42, the 400 acre Birch Coppice Business Park is the West Midlands' largest rail-served development site. Occupants include Ocado, UPS, Volkswagen Group, Euro Car Parts and Roadways Container Logistics.
