The order includes sixty Cat 312E, thirty Cat 320EL, thirty Cat 305E and five Cat 336EL hydraulic excavators.

Flannery has also ordered fifteen Cat M313D and fifteen Cat M315D wheeled excavators, along with fifty Cat 308E2 mini hydraulic excavators and four Cat D6T LGP tracked tractors.

The deal also includes ten Cat 311F LRR hydraulic excavators, the first of this model in in Europe.

Director Pat Flannery said that the investment in latest generation machinery was necessary to meet growing customer demand for machines that met the latest fuel efficiency and low emission standards, particularly within the London Low Emission Zone.

“With the construction industry growing, we have experienced a significant demand for environmentally friendly plant equipment from customers who are looking to reduce their emissions,” he said. “To meet this demand we continued our investment in premium equipment, following the purchased of specialised Cat 308D SB RT mini excavators in 2013.”

He added: “A high number of our customers are working on projects where [compliance with] emission standards are essential, such as the Crossrail project in London.”

Flannery has 1,600 machines in its hire fleet.
