The nine-mile Redlands project, which is valued at more than US$154m (£118m), will extend the passenger rail service from downtown San Bernardino to near the campus of the University of Redlands.
Construction is set to begin this spring of 2019 and continue through to late 2021. A freight rail service on the existing track will be maintained during construction.
