Stanford specialises in high tolerance industrial floor solutions. It runs a fleet of 16 ride-on trowels but had not previously bought Wacker Neuson machines before. However, the word of mouth was good and they performed well on trial, said Stanford production director Steve Clemson.

The 48-inch CRT48-35L model chosen by Stanford is powered by a 4-cylinder liquid cooled Kohler diesel engine developing 26 kW at 3600 rpm with a fuel consumption of 6.15 l/hr.

The machine features Wacker Neuson’s torsion assist steering system, which minimises the effort required to control the machine and so reduces operator fatigue when being used for prolonged periods, the manufacturer says. Also, the unit’s centrally located engine and rigid construction provides the operator with good visibility and feedback of the concrete conditions.

In addition, the heavy-duty clutch system designed by the company specifically for ride-on trowel use has a constantly variable drive ratio, which is able to provide increased torque during panning operations.
